As a member of the School Leadership team, the Assistant Principal assists the Principal with all day-to-day operations of the school. Overseeing that instruction is consistent with the mission, philosophy, goals and objectives of the school. In conjunction with the Principal, the Assistant Principal assures that programs that deal with the Catholic identity of the school are planned, implemented and evaluated as directed by the Department of Catholic Schools.
Essential Functions
Assist the principal in defining and communicating the school’s mission, goals, and expectations.
Provide instructional leadership, in concert with the principal, for the implementation of the curriculum of the Archdiocese of Baltimore.
Assist the principal in the supervision and mentoring of faculty and staff.
Support faculty in the supervision of students and administration of the school’s Code of Conduct.
Assist in determining and implementing school organization, student placement and evaluation, and services and programs that provide for the needs of the students.
Communicate effectively with students, staff, administrative and supervisory personnel, parents, and community.
Engage in professional and community activities as an official representative of the school.
Position Qualifications
Practicing Catholic with a demonstrated commitment to the mission of Catholic education.
Master’s degree from an accredited institution in educational administration, supervision, curriculum development, or education.
Appropriate MSDE Certification.
A minimum of five years teaching experience in Catholic schools.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Must be comfortable with technology including GSuite, Google Classroom, and school management programs such as Power School.
Prior experience in school administration preferred.
Range:
$60,000 – 75,000, Annualized
Base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, experience for this role, and/or internal equity of our current employees as part of any final offer. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, which is determined upon company and individual performance.
