Position Overview:

Siemens Mobility is GROWING in Chicago, IL and seeking an experienced Quality Manager in Projects (QMiP). In this role you will support the Project Manager and the project team as an expert and partner in ensuring compliance with, and improvement of the processes, as well as in achieving the project objectives, especially for product quality, contract fulfillment and thus customer satisfaction. The tasks of the QMiP extends throughout the lifetime of the project.

What your day-to-day will look like:

Leads and/or coordinates the entire project quality team (internal/external) of the assigned organizational unit(s).Ensures cross-functional cooperation with Procurement, Logistics, R&D, Engineering, Manufacturing, Service, and relevant suppliers to achieve quality business goals.Adapts and provides a project-specific management system including project documentation, regulations, methods, and IT tools, following a risk-based approach.Ensures professional non-conformance (NC) management.Coaches project team members in agile/lean methods or even acts as a SCRUM master in agile projects.Ensures the implementation of quality improvement methods and improves process performance management (e.g. 8D, RCA, FMEA).Selects innovative digital solutions to improve project qualityDrives lessons learned across projects.Ensures the implementation and improvement of project quality reporting as integrated part of project reporting.Contributes to project planning to ensure that project-specific, quality-relevant requirements are considered starting with sales phase.Initiates training for project employees with regards to quality (e.g. methods and processes).Develops, controls, and ensures the implementation of a quality plan (incl. quality assurance measures such as review / test / validation / ...) for the project derived from existing QM system agreed upon with the own organization, customer, partners and suppliers.Develops, controls, and ensures the implementation and improvement of a project-specific QM system documented in the project quality plan.Advises and/or conducts quality-related methodology/tools (esp. risk management, identify and conduct relevant lessons learned, Quality Gates, NC management, root cause analyze, etc.).

Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities

To thrive in this role, you have:

Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, or industrial engineering, or computer science.5+ years of experience leading a highly functional team professionals.Excellently demonstrated customer interaction skills.Demonstrate a proven track record of project launches with minimal NCCs and on time delivery of the end product.Experience in core quality tools like FMEA, Six Sigma, 5Why, 8D, Ishikawa Diagram, VSM, Process audits.Data Analytics/ Digitalization skills.Experience in database systems.Ability to work in matrix global organization.Have a forward thinking, proactive mind set.Flexibility to work and travel worldwide as the need arises (~15-20% travel).Setting you apart from others would be a Master's degree with ASQ or other quality certifications and technical knowledge and experience in Rail Rolling Stock, a huge plus! Experience in Project and Lean management is desirable.

Siemens offers a variety of health and wellness benefits to employees. The base salary range for this position in Chicago, IL is $119,900 - $140,900 and the annual incentive target is 10% of the base salary. The actual salary/wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
