As a Director, Business Analytics & Insights, you will champion the data-driven culture within the Lifetouch organization and lead a high-performing team of analysts and data scientists that supports key initiatives across the organization. You will support the business by providing analysis used to guide performance and develop innovative solutions to complex business problems. You will combine and analyze data from a variety of cross-functional teams to generate actionable insights and present them in a way that is easily consumable. In addition to a diverse technical skillset, the ideal candidate will have strong business acumen, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
What You’ll Do Here:
Own the strategy for new product success metrics, defining KPIs, and collaborating with engineering on data tracking and instrumentation. Partner with data product teams to automate and enhance data collection sustainably.Lead the team in analyzing data to proactively identify trends and opportunities that drive actionable insights.Establish a transparent prioritization process with business partners and team members, ensuring effective resource planning.Synthesize analyses into compelling narratives to influence key stakeholders, clearly articulating problems, solutions, and the impact of implementations.Collaborate with cross-functional partners to advocate for insights that align initiatives with high-impact outcomes, integrating enterprise strategy into performance analysis.Work with the BI team to design and implement self-service dashboards that utilize advanced analytics and visualization techniques, driving strategic business and product decisions.Develop test plans, formulate hypotheses, define success metrics, and transform raw data into actionable insights, effectively communicating results to stakeholders.Apply scientific methods and advanced statistical approaches to uncover key insights from data, addressing significant business challenges and driving value.Proactively identify areas for machine learning applications that leverage diverse data sources, validating opportunities with advanced analytical techniques.Develop a comprehensive understanding of stakeholder needs across business lines, using analytical expertise to inform priorities and focus areas.Serve as a thought leader and mentor in business domain knowledge and analytical techniques, enhancing team performance.The Skills You’ll Bring:
BA/BS degree in a technical or quantitative field; or strong equivalent analytics experience10+ years of work experience in BI, analytics, consulting, or data science preferredProficient SQL experience writing complex queries ideally with large volumes of dataProficient data visualization skills in Tableau, PowerBI, Looker, etc. (PowerBI is a plus)Basic to Intermediate skills in conducting analysis using Adobe Analytics or Google Analytics2 or more years‘ experience with at least one data science/analytics programming language such as Python and/or RStrong understanding of at least one focus area of data science such as statistics, machine learning, design and analysis of experiments, operations research, and/or quantitative analysisCandidates with data science (regression, clustering, forecasting, design of experiments) skill is a plus.Strong communicator capable of interfacing at senior levelsAbility to identify and succinctly summarize roadblocks, constraints, and trade-offs, propose potential solutions, and drive toward resolutionIntellectually curious, high energy with a strong work ethicSupporting a diverse and inclusive workforce is important to Shutterfly not only because it directly reflects our value of Embracing our Differences, but also because it’s the right thing to do for our business and for our people.
