Job Description

Responsible for the support of information system resources including but not limited to computers, telephones, cell phones, and peripherals. Install and maintain network applications continuity to support the interface with Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) applications. Tasks include end user support, documentation, Install and maintain Workforce Solutions (WFS) computer equipment and software for assigned WFS center(s), software/hardware upgrades and configurations. Create and maintain user accounts, monitor and resolve day to day operations issues via WFS work order system.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:

Review and maintain work order system for assigned WFS Center(s).

  • Review currently active work orders assigned, document the ones that are still pending and close the completed ones.
  • Prepare hard drive images as requested by Information Technology Manager.
  • Manage Windows Active Directory (AD) user accounts to maintain proper security access.
  • Maintain regular contact with WFS Single Point of Contact (SPOC) concerning work orders (WOs) in process.
  • Provide status updates to internal and external customers.

Assist, monitor and report network connectivity between WFS center locations with TWC resources.

  • Review and maintain LAN network connectivity component list status.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain and report any component with connectivity issues. (i.e. Virtual Computers, Voice system, Windows AD and Exchange accounts)
  • Confirms user access to respective applications and databases.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain peripheral equipment (e.g. Faxes, printers, monitors and ADA specific equipment.)
  • Maintain basic configuration of WFS land and mobile phones.

Install and maintain hardware and software at end user level for assigned WFS center(s) infrastructure.

  • Review current status of hardware/software, upgrade and/or maintain as necessary.
  • Update software on staff and public computer systems at assigned WFS center(s) as necessary.
  • Provide basic training to staff in the use of computer hardware and software utilization.
  • Perform audits for missing or unauthorized utilization of hardware and software, as necessary.

Assist, coordinate WFS Center modifications/renovations involving physical network layer infrastructure.

  • Review, plan and coordinate needed equipment and resources according to desired outcome.
  • Monitor and/or assist with tasks needed to achieve outcomes.
  • Supervise temporary contracted help when project required.
  • Coordinate with office leadership IT related needs for the continuity of services.

Performance, monitoring and physical maintenance of WFS surveillance camera systems and server backups hardware.

  • Provision of video documentations when requested.
  • Coordinate and assist on user files restores as needs arise.

Document and communicate equipment movements between locations to responsible parties.

  • Set up of equipment for special projects.
  • Relocation of failed equipment.
  • Installation of new equipment.
