General Role Description

The IT Support Specialist is responsible for managing support tickets and maintaining IT systems and equipment to ensure smooth company operations. This role will work closely with our established IT Consultant, where the IT Consultant will manage and maintain the network and this role will assist the end users and provide internal support as necessary to the IT Consultant.

Key Responsibilities

Human Resources

Support Human Resources with onboarding and offboarding employees by managing equipment and software licensesSet up equipment for employee use, performing or ensuring proper installation of cables, operating systems, or appropriate software.Assist with maintenance of AE Design's SharePoint site.IT

Assist our Managed IT Service Provider in managing tickets, maintaining IT systems and equipment.Support onsite IT requests.Manage and maintain hardware/equipment backstockCoordinate with IT Consultant and hardware/software vendors for procurement and support.Manage software products including new releases and implementations throughout the network.Maintain accurate records of software licenses throughout the company.Coordinate with IT Consultant to purchase and maintain inventory of IT related equipment.Ensure all staff have appropriate hardware and computers.Coordinate with IT Consultant for retention and disposal schedule for electronic equipment.Coordinate with IT Consultant for disposal and recycling of all electronic equipment.Maintain accurate records of all company-owned equipment.Provides technical support identifying, investigating, and resolving users' problems with computer software and hardware for problems specific to the organizations computer networks and systems.Applies knowledge of computer software, hardware, and procedures to troubleshoot/solve problems.Collaborates with IT Consultant to research and resolve problems.Answer user inquiries regarding computer software or hardware operation to resolve problems.Refer major hardware or software problems or defective products to IT Consultant.Manages organization software licenses.Maintains knowledge of technology innovations and trends.Respond to Help Desk Tickets in a timely manner.Performs other related duties as assigned.Maintain internal conference room AV systems.Develop and maintain a data archival backup system.Required Skills/Abilities

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.Ability to explain technical issues to technical and nontechnical staff.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Understanding of computer and networking hardware and software systems.Excellent time management skills.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn a broad array of networking and systems hardware and software.Education & Experience

Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience required.At least two years of related experience required.Physical Requirements

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
