What you’ll be doing as a Payroll - Staff Accountant:
Conduct internal audits of third-party Payroll processor filings and reports
Prepare and post Payroll related accounting entries to the general ledger
Payroll related balance sheet reconciliations
Reconcile and analyze various Payroll general ledger account balances and recommend to management appropriate action to be taken, if necessary
Analyze information and options by developing Payroll related spreadsheet reports, verifying information
Significant month-end close responsibility to ensure all Payroll activity posted, specific critical month-end accruals
Post manual Payroll journals throughout the month
Assists Payroll staff in various duties
Runs reports, monitors, and informs Payroll Supervisor periodically on various Payroll and accounting issues
Process pays corrections and adjustments as needed
Provide analysis for various Payroll related variances
Interrelate with other departments to resolve issues as they occur
Prepare and complete special projects as needed.
Directs and assists lower classified accounting employees as required.
Qualifications
What you need to be successful:
College degree in accounting plus five years of industrial accounting experience.
Or
Eight years of industrial accounting experience plus six college accounting courses.
