The HR Director will be directly responsible for supervising HR staff, talent acquisition, retention, quality job descriptions, evaluations, supporting staff development, enhancing job satisfaction, designing effective recruitment and onboarding procedures and implementing HR strategies that support the agencies' objectives to include measuring and monitoring company diversity practices that effectively increase diversity. The HR Director will also be responsible for forecasting staffing needs, mitigating risk, maintaining employee records, designing accountability mechanisms, modeling effective confrontation with the leadership team and overseeing overall employment needs. The ideal candidate for this role should possess a high work ethic, excellent communication and writing skills, knowledge of employment laws, regulations and HR practices, strategic thinking abilities, strong organizational skills, and excellent interpersonal skills. The exceptional HR Director should improve HR processes, implement strategies that support business growth, Diversity, morale and employee retention, enhance safety and wellness, strengthen relations between staff and leadership and manage job satisfaction.Directions for Living is an essential services provider. Primary Responsibilities:Collaborates with the VP of HR and senior leadership to understand the organization's goals and strategy related to Talent Acquisition and staff Plans, leads, develops, coordinates, and implements policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support the organization's human resource compliance and strategy needs.Partners with the VP of HR to Administer/oversee the administration of human resource initiatives including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.Identifies staffing and recruiting needs; develops and executes best practices for hiring and talent management.Conducts research and analysis of organizational trends including review of reports and metrics from the organization's human resource information systems. Monitors and ensures the organization's compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance.Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to Responsible for continuing to evolve our internal and external Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging strategies of the organization by Collecting and analyzing statistical data to evaluate the agency's population in accordance with diversity standards and goals.Drafts and implements recruiting and hiring strategies to attract employees from diverse backgrounds.Act as Affirmative Action officer assuring continuing knowledge of A.A. goals, objectives and progress regarding the agency.Performs other duties as required.Required Skills/Abilities:Excellent verbal, written and communication skills.Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong supervisory and leadership skills.Ability to adapt to the needs of the organization and employees.Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS management systems.Education and Experience Requirements:Bachelor's degree in human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.At least five years of human resource management experience required to include Talent Acquisition, Retention, the ability to source and attract quality candidates, working knowledge of employment law, employee relations, progressive discipline, FMLA, ADA, ERISA, WC and Benefit administration.PHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP required.
