HR Generalist Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in HR or related field; Bachelor's preferred.
  • 2-3 years of HR experience, ideally within the nonprofit sector.
  • Proven ability to design and implement effective performance management programs.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Proficiency in HRIS; Ceridian Dayforce = a plus.
  • HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) = a plus.
  • Knowledge in benefits, recruiting, employee relations, and training.

HR Generalist Responsibilities:

  • Manage the full recruitment cycle, including job postings, resume screening, interviewing, and onboarding processes.
  • Administer employee benefits programs, assist with open enrollment, and answer employee questions regarding benefits.
  • Support employee relations efforts, addressing issues, and ensuring consistent policy application.
  • Maintain and update employee records, ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures aligned with the nonprofit's values and goals.
  • Coordinate training sessions and professional development opportunities for staff.
  • Support performance management and employee evaluation processes.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations.
