This role is responsible for growing the electrical department and leading teams to deliver projects for all phases for the Electrical Group and assisting the Construction and Service Group with complex projects. Key deliverables include managing resources, schedules, financials and ensure quality control and customer satisfaction of the completed project. The operations manager also participates in the “pre-construction phase” of the project to provide constructability reviews, create schedules, review subcontractor bids, productivity reviews to ensure the project can achieve time and budgetary requirements. This role is charged with “meeting or exceeding bid day profitability targets”. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, organized, persistent, and comfortable in front of a variety of leadership levels.
Qualifications
5 to 10 years of project management experience
3 to 5 years of field lead/foreman experience
Electrical Service Manager experience
Must hold a valid Journeyman 01 or higher license
Primary Responsibilities and Duties
Assumes accountability and ownership of the project(s)
Assists with the pre-construction process to provide field input and help close business
Responsible for project safety and environment programs
Sets up project reporting procedures
Understands and enforces contractual responsibilities, contract documents and dispute resolution
Ensures timely project completion through effective project scheduling, timely delivery of materials and efficient management of material and document submittals / approvals
Negotiates and issues subcontracts and major purchase orders and monitor progress
Negotiates, prepares, issues and executes change orders
Prepares and issues monthly progress reports, schedules and cost reports
Chairs and records project meetings
Required Skills
Strong communication and leadership skills
Ability to build partner relationships
Timely presentation of problem issues; offered with optimal solutions and the drive to secure timely answers
Excellent customer service, relationship, and communication skills
Motivational leader
Physical ability to climb ladders, work, and tour hazardous environments such as mechanical or boiler rooms and walk on high rise rooftops
Willingness to grow past current job position
Salary:$90,000 - $125,000 depending on experience and licenses.
