Learning Management Systems Specialist

The Learning Management System (LMS) Specialist is responsible for managing, optimizing, and supporting the organization's learning management platform, with a primary focus on HealthStream or other LMS systems. This role includes the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of e-learning courses and resources, ensuring accessibility, compliance, and alignment with organizational training goals. The LMS Specialist works closely with internal teams and subject matter experts to develop engaging content, troubleshoot system issues, and customize features within HealthStream to meet regulatory and training needs. This position plays a vital role in advancing the organization's learning and development initiatives by leveraging innovative digital solutions and supporting the overall training strategy.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Course Building and Content Creation : Develop, configure, and manage courses, training modules, and learning paths within HealthStream or other LMS platforms. Ensure that content is organized, engaging, and meets the organization's training and compliance objectives. Experience using authoring tools (such as Articulate, Captivate) to create interactive and visually engaging e-learning content that supports learning objectives and enhances user experience.
Assignment and Enrollment Management : Oversee the assignment of courses and learning modules to users based on role, department, or compliance requirements. Manage enrollment and track progress.
LMS Maintenance and Optimization : Monitor the performance of the LMS, troubleshoot technical issues, and perform regular updates to maintain system reliability and user satisfaction. Customize platform features to maximize functionality and align with organizational needs. Continuously monitor and integrate current industry trends, technologies, and best practices to keep our strategies relevant and competitive.
Data Reporting and Analytics : Generate and analyze reports on user progress, course completion, and compliance metrics. Use data insights to support continuous improvement in training effectiveness and compliance tracking.
User Support and Training : Provide technical support to LMS users, assisting with login issues, course access, and navigation. Conduct training sessions and create guides to enhance user understanding and engagement with the LMS.
Collaboration with Stakeholders : Work closely with internal departments and subject matter experts to gather training needs, ensure content accuracy, and align LMS offerings with organizational objectives and regulatory standards.
Required Skills and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Education, Information Technology, Healthcare Administration, or a related field with 2+ years of relevant experience in LMS management, preferably with HealthStream,
or;
Associate's degree in a related field with 4+ years of experience in LMS administration, IT, or e-learning development,
or;
6+ years of relevant experience in LMS management, course creation, and/or instructional design, with a focus on building and assigning digital training modules.
Experience in a healthcare setting is highly desirable, especially with exposure to regulatory and compliance-driven training requirements.
Experience in training content development and instructional design, with demonstrated success in aligning e-learning initiatives to organizational objectives.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
LMS Course Development and Assignment Proficiency:
Strong ability to build, configure, and assign courses and learning paths within HealthStream or other LMS platforms, ensuring training meets organizational and compliance standards.
Excellent Communication Skills:
Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with stakeholders, provide user support, and effectively communicate technical information to non-technical audiences.
Technical Troubleshooting and Support:
Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving LMS issues to support end-users, enhancing their learning experience and maintaining system functionality.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
Ability to generate, analyze, and interpret training data to monitor learner progress, assess program effectiveness, and support data-driven decisions.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Digital Tools:
Competency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and other digital tools for course authoring, development, reporting, and data analysis
Physical Requirements:
Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally in carrying, lifting, pushing, pulling objects. Sitting most of the time, with walking and standing required only occasionally
Location and Travel Requirements:
Remote/hybrid/onsite
Travel - minimal
Compensation Disclosure:
$55,000 to $65,000 Annually
