Job Summary:The Transaction Advisory Services (TAS) Managing Director is a leadership role overseeing all aspects of TAS Centers of Excellence to support the overall delivery of the national TAS strategy. The TAS Managing Director will lead new business origination efforts and support multiple client engagement teams while maintaining key client relationships. A qualified candidate should have excellent leadership and technical skills, be results oriented, and have a tenacious work ethic.Job Duties:Oversees all functions of TAS Center of ExcellenceLeads new business origination effortsCoordinates cross selling opportunities across BDO service linesOversees client engagement teams to ensure effective and efficient delivery of quality servicesLeads complex deal related issues and provides appropriate insight into deal specific matters, including but not limited to quality of earnings adjustments, pro-forma/normalization calculations, working capital analysis and definition, debt and debt-like analysis, warranties & indemnities, sale and purchase agreement reviewOversees the full spectrum of transaction advisory work in multiple engagements including buy-side and sell-side mandatesEnforces standards for quality/consistency and brings sophistication to client engagementsCoaches and mentors staff in key areas, including detailed due diligence, critical decision making, report writing, and project managementEnsures client expectations are met, maintains client relationships and identifies and resolves client issues /concernsLeverages BDO's firm wide capabilities beyond TAS during client engagementsAssists in identifying risks and issues related to the transaction and effectively communicates to clientsOversees the development of proposal documents and conducts presentations in pursuit of acquiring new clientsPartners with management members of BDO offices to identify and promote the services of the Transaction Advisory Services practice to existing and perspective clientsProvides verbal and written performance feedback to TAS team members throughout the fiscal year and as part of the annual performance review processOther duties as requiredQualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Education:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance or equivalent requiredMBA desirableExperience:At least ten (10) years of prior financial statement related professional services experience, of which at least five (5) years has been spent in a dedicated TAS environment, to include complex national and multi-national buy and sell side transactions

Prior experience interacting and working directly with C-level personnel, preferredBig 4 or other top tier consulting firm experience, preferredLicense/Certifications:CPA, preferredSoftware:Strong Excel, Word and Powerpoint skills requiredLanguage:N/AOther Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Demonstrated practice leadership and development skillsExcellent project management and communication skills, as well as a sense of urgency and drive to help the company service its clientsDemonstrated ability to lead engagements, support/supervise staff and respond to client needsSolid knowledge of technical accounting areas such as US GAAPExhibit an executive presence and strong business acumenStrong verbal and written communication skills, specifically business writing aptitudeProven ability to initiate and maintain solid relationships with all levels of client personnel, as well as utilizing network and industry relationships to identify business development opportunitiesAbility to travel up to 50%Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.National Range: $250,000 - $400,000NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $250,000 - $400,000
