Sr. Payroll/Benefits Specialist | 70k - 85k/yr | Fully Remote | Permanent PositionOur client in Chantilly VA is immediately hiring for a Benefits/Payroll Specialist to join their team. This is a full-time permanent role and pay will vary based on years of experience. Qualified candidates will have an interview scheduled within 48 hours of resume submission.Job Requirements
5+ years of multi-state payroll experience required, preferably in a shared service environment.Preparation and processing of assigned weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly, and monthly payrolls for over 2,000 employees.Experience in US Benefit administration.Experience in tax amendments and quarterly/annual tax filings.Experience in HRIS and ERPs, preferably with ADP Workforce Now, Workday, and IFS.Strong understanding of applicable Federal, State, and local payroll and related tax laws, regulations, and statues.Strong knowledge of HR Payroll systems including enhancements, upgrades, and implementations.Willing to demonstrate a high level of discretion with sensitive information.Proven to meet deadlines when working on several complex projects simultaneously.Strong organizational skills.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.Job Responsibilities
Ensure the integrity of all payroll data in accordance with company policies and government regulations.Manage urgent payroll matters such as special payroll runs, manual check calculations, and tax remittance issues.Import labor files timely into the payroll system.Handle post-payroll reports and transactions, including tax remittance, 401K transmission files, and general ledger files.Maintain high customer service levels in evaluating and resolving payroll-related issues.Support the setup and maintenance of HRIS and ADP Workforce Now systems.Develop ad hoc reports as needed.Oversee year-end operational close, including reconciliation, W2 distribution, and tax filing compliance.Participate in audits of workers' compensation, tax filings, and related documentation.Recommend improvements or changes to payroll processes and policies for compliance and best practices.Assist the Payroll Manager with problem-solving and special projects, including acquisitions, HRIS implementations, and open enrollment.Collaborate with ADP Client Reps on various projects and tax-related issues.Perform general administrative duties such as filing, photocopying, and scanning.Abide by payroll procedures and company handbook.
