JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for the development and execution of effective and practical human resources policies/practices encompassing the full spectrum of HR: compliance, recruitment, performance management, employee relations, training/mentoring, benefits and LOA/WC administration. Requires a broad generalist background with solid knowledge of CA employment laws. Responsible for plant safety such as OSHA/Cal OSHA standards, required programs, training, basic facility and equipment exposures. This is a very hands-on, dynamic position dealing with all levels of the organization. Bilingual Spanish a plus!

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, Organizational Development or similar discipline. Experience/certifications may be substituted for degree.Minimum 8 years' generalist experience in Human Resources in a manufacturing or similar environment. Aerospace experience a plus.A practical approach to HR emphasizing analytical problem solving and results-driven solutions.Strong recruitment skills for sourcing and screening applicants. Affirmative Action experience a plus.Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to consolidate information and present it in layman's terms.Thorough knowledge of CA laws in areas such as wage and hour, leave administration and worker's comp administration.Prior experience in coaching, employee relations and performance management.Basic knowledge of benefits administration.Prior experience and involvement with OSHA/Cal OSHA regulations, required programs, training, hazardous chemical management and general safety.Highly organized with the ability to accomplish projects despite frequent interruptions and changes in priorities.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Typical office environment. Exposure to noise (less than 80db), dirt, oil, grime, machining fluids and some hazardous chemicals when in production areas.

Must be able to see, hear and communicate orally and in writing.Must be able to travel throughout the facility on surfaces that may be slippery or uneven.Must be able to reach, grasp, lift up to 25 lbs, bend, stoop, squat, climb stairs/steps.Must be able to wear protective gear (glasses, work shoes).Must be able to use a computer for prolonged periods.
