Payroll Specialist

An education organization is seeking to hire a Payroll Specialist. In this seat, you will be the only person processing payroll for 6 different union contracts. Additionally, you will report to the Director of Finance and be using HARPERS software. The ideal candidate has 3-5+ years of payroll processing experience, has handled union payroll, and preferably comes out of the municipality/education space (not required).ResponsibilitiesProcess and audit payroll information in a timely mannerMaintain accurate records of payroll documentation and transactionsCollaborate with HR to ensure proper handling of employee benefits deductionsUtilize various payroll software systems such as PeopleSoft, Paychex, HRIS, Ceridian, Kronos, and UltiProConduct general ledger account reconciliations related to payrollAssist with accounts payable functions as neededRequirementsProficiency in using payroll software such as PeopleSoft, Paychex, HRIS, Ceridian, Kronos, and UltiProKnowledge of financial concepts related to payroll processingExperience with general ledger reconciliationStrong attention to detail and accuracy in data entryAbility to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity
