The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at UT Southwestern Medical Center is recruiting a seasoned Manager for the Sports Medicine Athletic Trainers team. Job Duties will include:Directs, manages, hires, and supervises Lead Certified Athletic Trainers at each regional location via a created Athletic Training Network to UTSW.Evaluates clinic scheduling for Sports Medicine providers by proxy of local clinic staff. Search for ways to improve productivity, reduce costs, and make the best use of the business resources.Manages a dedicated phone line and assist with patient calls to the UTSW athletic trainer network and coordinate scheduling athletic injuries across all access sites independent of the access center.Oversees training sites for Athletic Trainers from university programs as well as coordinates immersion programs, conference education, and preceptors.Additional duties as assigned.BENEFITS

Required
Education:
Master's Degree in Athletic Training or Sports Medicine from an accredited program or equivalent related health degree.Experience:
Successful completion of accredited residency/fellowship in athletic training and orthopedic surgery. 3 years experience working with sports teams and/or in an outpatient clinic to include one (1) year of supervisory experience.Licenses and Certifications:
(BLS) BASIC LIFE SUPPORT for healthcare providers from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross. Upon Hire (ATC) Athletic Trainer Certification (TLAT) Texas Licensed Athletic TrainerPreferred

(OTC) ORTHOPEDIC TECHNICIAN CERTIFICATIONJOB DUTIES

Implements such plans in a manner to achieve operational results for assigned areas.Manages the negotiation and establishment of contractual arrangements for professional services. Serves as primary liaison between UTSW sports medicine providers and all professional, collegiate, and high school teams.Performs other duties as assigned.SECURITY AND EEO STATEMENT
