The MEP Leader will play a crucial role in overseeing various projects; Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) aspects, ensuring their successful completion while adhering to quality standards, safety protocols, and project timelines.Project Planning and Coordination:Collaborate with stakeholders, architects, engineers, and clients to understand project requirements and goalsDevelop MEP project plans, schedules, and budgets to ensure successful executionCoordinate with other engineering disciplines and project teams to ensure seamless integration of MEP systems with overall building designDesign Review and Approval:Review, prepare, and assess MEP design proposals, drawings, and specifications to ensure compliance with local building codes, regulations, and industry standardsProvide technical expertise and guidance to the design team for optimal MEP system selection and implementationApprove final design documents and ensure all required permits are obtained before constructionConstruction Oversight:Supervise and manage MEP staff during construction to ensure that bid constructors adhere to approved plans, specifications, and safety guidelinesConduct regular site visits to monitor progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions promptlyResolve any MEP-related conflicts or discrepancies that may arise during constructionEngineering Design and Analysis:Provide technical expertise in MEP engineering disciplines (e.g., mechanical, electrical, plumbing) to support the team's design effortsReview and approve engineering design proposals, calculations, and drawings, ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulationsPerform complex engineering analysis and simulations to validate design concepts and optimize project outcomesQuality Control and Assurance:Establish and enforce quality control measures for MEP design to ensure high-quality designConduct audits to verify that MEP designs meet the required LiRo standardsBudget and Cost Management:Monitor and control MEP project budgets to ensure cost-effective solutions without compromising qualityIdentify cost-saving opportunities and recommend value engineering options where appropriateTeam Leadership and Development:Lead and mentor a team of MEP engineers and designers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environmentConduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and support professional development initiatives for team membersClient Communication:Maintain regular communication with clients to provide project updates, address concerns, and ensure client satisfactionParticipate in client meetings and presentations to discuss MEP-related progress and milestonesClient Interaction and Business Development:Cultivate strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and ensuring their satisfaction throughout the project lifecycleCollaborate with business development teams to identify potential clients, prepare proposals, and secure new engineering projectsCompliance and Regulatory Adherence:Stay current with relevant engineering codes, regulations, and industry best practices, ensuring project compliance with all applicable requirementsLiaise with regulatory authorities and obtain necessary permits and approvals for engineering projectsInnovation and Continuous Improvement:Encourage and promote innovation within the engineering team, exploring new technologies and approaches to enhance project efficiency and outcomesIdentify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices across the organizationQualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical EngineeringProfessional Engineering (PE) license requiredProven experience (typically 15+ years) in managing MEP projects in the construction industry, with a focus on commercial or institutional buildingsStrong knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and industry standards related to MEP systemsExcellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse project teams and clientsProficiency in using MEP design software and project management toolsStrong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to handle multiple projects simultaneouslyDemonstrated experience in successfully managing complex engineering projects and teamsBusiness acumen and the ability to contribute to business development effortsThe selected candidate must be authorized to work in the United States; Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.LiRo-Hill is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
