ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

Partners with managers in handling employee relations, coaching and corrective action, and other performance improvement actions for employees in designated regions.Improves manager and employee performance by identifying and clarifying problems; evaluating potential solutions; implementing selected solutions; and assisting property teams in delivering feedback, coaching, etc.Works closely with the Talent Acquisition team to recruit aspirational talent for all exempt and nonexempt personnel. Participates in the recruitment and interview process as needed and supports the team to ensure positions are filled in a timely manner with high-quality employees.Provides training as needed to employee groups when process improvements are implemented or an additional need for training is identified.

Critical Evaluation

Assists HR Manager and Chief People Officer in evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established balanced scorecard goals.Uses data and metrics to add value to business partners. Prepares and analyzes reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.

HR Expertise

Manages leaves of absence for employees within assigned region of properties. Works closely with impacted team members, ensuring LOA options are offered consistently and per our company policies/plans.Partners with HR Manager to ensure worker's compensation, safety, and return to work programs are handled effectively.Follows up with all Top Workplace and Pulse Surveys for assigned regions. Advocates for our employee-first culture and retention of aspirational talent.Assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures.Administers the compensation program; monitors the performance management program and revises as necessary.Participates in and supports all applicable Company committees.Willingly assists other members of the HR/Learning/Office team as needed and completes special assignments and other duties as assigned.

Project Management

Actively participates in creating annual HR Business Plans. Involved in OGSM, SIMS, or departmental projects that focus on continuous process improvement or leveraging technology.Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to continually improve the effectiveness of the department and services provided to internal customers.Manages stakeholder expectations by communicating project status and issues; resolving concerns; analyzing time and cost issues; and preparing reports.Completes special projects based on the annual HR Business Plan and Company OGSM needs. Follows company Project Management Process including clarifying project objectives; setting timetables and schedules; conducting research and stakeholder interviews; developing and organizing information; communicating updates, and closing out projects.

Ethical and Legal Practice

Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating changes; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.Stays on top of current trends and keeps policies and employee handbook updated. Works with Sr. Director of HR and Legal counsel as needed to ensure language meets legal requirements.Manages unemployment claims within designated region. Responds timely with critical information to keep claims down. Participates in hearings as needed, and enlists witnesses to strengthen defense.Partners with HR Specialist on all Background Screening, ensuring consistent application to agreed-upon standards. Elevates matters as needed to HR Manager or Chief People Officer.Adheres to the strictest ethical standards. Protects the organization's value by maintaining confidentiality.

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or related fieldTwo to five years of HR experienceRelevant professional experience may be substituted for educationSHRM-CP or PHR certification preferredExperience in handling sensitive, confidential informationThree years of Customer Service experienceWell-developed team skills, unquestioned integrity, and the experience, confidence and presence to effectively handle interpersonal relationships and sensitive HR issuesADP experience is desirable

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; strength to lift and carry items weighing up to 10 pounds; vision to read printed material and a computer screen; and hearing and speech to communicate in-person and over the telephone. Must be able to quickly and easily navigate the property/building as required to meet the job functions, including climbing stairs and walking the hallways and common areas.

Work Environment: Office working conditions, hybrid work model. Local travel to company properties based on business need is required.
