Job Description:

An Interventionist provides Tier 2 and Tier 3 direct, targeted intervention instructional lessons to small groups of students to accelerate student learning. This academic support is designed to broaden, extend and deepen the learning experience for identified at-risk students. This support is provided to students in flexible small groups. Students receiving this support are determined through the study of student data. In collaboration with the classroom teacher(s), the Interventionist facilitates the instructional experiences to use with these students that meet their specific learning goals.

Specific Responsibilities:Engages in research-based best-practices that promote a successful learning environment for all students.Utilizes appropriate content standards and benchmarks in preparing, delivering, and assessing student learning.Work during designated times with small groups of at-risk studentsContribute information to and assist in maintaining assessment recordsMake recommendations of next steps for instruction to the classroom teacherMaintain ongoing communication with the classroom teacher about student progress and assessment documentationDifferentiate small group instruction to meet student needsSupport procedural building needsParticipate in building professional development

Qualifications:A valid teaching certificateA demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and successfully with families of students.A willingness to commit to ongoing professional developmentRegistered substitute for MPS through EdustaffAbility to successfully manage small groups of studentsAbility to interact in a positive manner with students, families and staff creating positive relationshipsExperience working in a school setting

Rate of Pay:

$200 per day
