Position Goal:
The paraprofessional will support classroom teachers and staff in providing a high-quality educational experience for students. This role involves working directly with students, assisting with instructional activities, and helping to maintain a positive and productive learning environment.
Minimum Qualifications:Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance CardExpertise in application and teaching with technology.Strong evidence of ability to work effectively and collaborate with other educators.Must possess strong oral and written language skills.
Desired Skills:A high school diploma or equivalent is required; an associate's degree or higher is preferred.Previous experience working with children in an educational setting.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Patience, empathy, and a commitment to supporting diverse student needs.
Essential Job Functions:Provide individualized support to students with diverse learning needs, including those with disabilities or special education requirements.Assist students with academic tasks, such as reading, writing, and mathematics, under the direction of the teacher.Support students in developing social and behavioral skills through positive reinforcement and guidance.Collaborate with teachers to prepare and implement lesson plans and instructional materials.Help administer assessments and collect data to track student progress and inform instructional strategies.Facilitate small group instruction and one-on-one tutoring sessions as needed.Assist in maintaining a safe, organized, and inclusive classroom environment.Support the implementation of classroom management strategies and behavior intervention plans.Supervise students during non-instructional times, such as recess, lunch, and transitions between activities.Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.Stay informed about best practices in education and support for students with special needs.Maintain effective communication with teachers, staff, and parents regarding student progress and any concerns.Collaborate with the educational team to develop and implement strategies that support student learning and well-being.Adhere to school policies, procedures, and confidentiality requirements.Assist with lunch duties and playground dutiesOther duties as assigned.
