Job DescriptionJob Title: Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Duration: 13 weeks

Shift: Night Shift (7 PM - 7 AM) + Weekend and Holiday availability

Guaranteed Hours: 34.5 hours per week

Experience: Minimum 2 years of current Psychiatric RN experience; 1 year of travel experience preferred for travel positions

License: New York State RN License

Certifications: BLS, Non-Violent Crisis Interventional Course (8 hours), CPI or PMCS Certification required

Must-Have: EPIC experience highly preferred

Job Description:

- Deliver patient care by incorporating the tenets of the professional practice model of Relationship-Centered Care.- Assess and evaluate patient care needs and apply critical thinking skills in patient care management.- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team in developing, implementing, and evaluating the plan of care.- Educate patients and caregivers about their plan of care, transition of care, health promotion, and disease prevention.- Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary patient care team.- Manage assignments within the Modified Primary Nursing Care Delivery Model.- Role model actions including Admission Welcome, Bedside Shift Report, HELP, and Purposeful Hourly Rounding.- Establish and maintain a therapeutic relationship with patients and families.- Practice safe and efficient patient-centered care, identifying and escalating barriers and opportunities for improvement.- Contribute to quality and safety practices and participate in quality improvement projects and evidence-based practice activities.- Document in compliance with hospital, regulatory, and legal requirements and standards of care.- Demonstrate a commitment to professional development and advance clinical competence in nursing practice.- Contribute to shared decision-making through specialty practice councils, nursing department committees, and unit initiatives.

Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred. Associate degree in nursing considered with relevant experience and/or active matriculation in a BSN Program. SEL and SCR forms required for onboarding.

Languages: English proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing.
