Our Women's Health, Obstetrics, and Gynecology team at Hennepin Healthcare offers full spectrum obstetric and gynecologic services to people who seek care for many conditions including high-risk pregnancy, prenatal diagnosis, genetic counseling, endometriosis, fibroids, incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse, as well as gynecologic surgery. We offer advanced ultrasound under the direction of our maternal fetal medicine specialists and can assist patients in accessing doula care, pelvic floor physical therapy, lactation support, integrative health practices, as well as minimally-invasive procedures within our health system.

Our organization and our department recognize the critical impact of mental health on new parents and families. We are proud to collaborate with psychiatry providers in our clinic as well as the Mother-Baby program as part of the Redleaf Center for Family Healing, which offers a range of multi-generation, trauma-informed mental health services to support pregnant individuals and families with children ages newborn to 5 years old.

Hennepin Healthcare Women's Health has a current part-time opening (0.5 FTE) for a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner. Most patient contact hours would be in our Women's Health outpatient clinic but may include some inpatient responsibilities as well. The position would work between M - F daytime hours (schedule to be determined based on department and candidate needs).

At Hennepin Healthcare you will enjoy the opportunity to work in a multi-disciplinary team of obstetrician/gynecologists, maternal fetal medicine sub-specialists and a talented group of certified nurse midwives.

* Taking comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic medical histories* Assessing, diagnosing, and treating disease risk factors across the reproductive lifespan* Provide comprehensive contraceptive counseling* Evaluating physical and social environmental risks which could impact childbearing* Inserting long-acting reversible contraception tools such as intrauterine devices and contraceptive implants* Screening for substance abuse, domestic violence, sexual abuse* Assessing, diagnosing, and treating sexually transmitted diseases* Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests* Consulting and collaborating with OBGYN physicians regarding complex gynecological patient care needs* Addressing patient concerns of infertility* Educating and counseling patients about menopause* Assisting patients through the perinatal period* Performing primary care procedures including pap smears and endometrial biopsies* Collaborating with maternal fetal medicine sub-specialists to effectively manage high-risk pregnancies

Minimum Qualifications

* Master's degree in Physician Assistant (PA) studies or Nursing from an accredited program* Current licensure to practice as a Physician Assistant or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) issued by the State of Minnesota

Preferred Qualifications

* Women's Health NP certification preferred for NP candidates* Prior women's health experience at some level
