Located in Greater Boston, MassBay is a comprehensive, open-access community college offering associate degrees and certificate programs on three campuses in Wellesley Hills, Framingham, and Ashland, Massachusetts.
Position Summary:
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a passion for teaching and promoting success among a diverse student population. Faculty members are responsible for developing educational and evaluation materials consistent with the philosophy and framework of the program, MassBay Community College, Board of Registration in Nursing (BORN) and Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) requirements. The faculty member is responsible for maintaining a current Massachusetts Registered Nursing license and expertise in their nursing specialty. We seek enthusiastic, competent, positive, diverse, and compassionate nursing faculty to help us develop and shape the next generation of nursing professionals. With the opening of the new leading-edge Health Sciences Campus in Framingham, we are seeking professionals who enjoy what they do and want to pass that expertise on in supportive and positive ways to our students.
This position requires the candidate to have experience in any of the following areas: pediatric nursing, OB nursing, and psychiatric nursing. This includes, but is not limited to, preparation of didactic, delivery of content, presentation of nursing skills and oversight of students in clinical courses.
The faculty member participates in the instruction, review, and evaluation of nursing courses and in assessing student performance. This faculty member participates in departmental, division, and college-related committees, governance, and activities.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
* Demonstrate teaching effectiveness in the classroom, lab, and clinical area; * Oversee and work with students in the clinical environment; * Teach pre-licensure nursing students across the nursing curriculum; * Develop instructional material consistent with course objectives and aligned with faculty program planning;
* Assign, supervise, and evaluate students in the clinical setting; * Share program governance with the Assistant Dean of Nursing consistent with BORN regulations and ACEN standards; * Collaborate with faculty colleagues and nursing program staff to develop, support, and implement the philosophy, conceptual framework, objectives, and policies of the program; * Collaborate with professionals in clinical settings; * Actively participate in course refinement and program evaluation; * Collaborate with all faculty colleagues to develop a nursing curriculum plan that shall provide a variety of learning experiences consistent with the program mission, philosophy, and nursing education outcomes; * Work collaboratively and with flexibility with the Simulation services of the Division through effective use of simulation and computer technologies in the classroom and lab; * Utilize a variety of appropriate teaching strategies to promote students' critical thinking skills; * Actively participate in the Systematic Evaluation Plan (SEP); * Serve as an adviser to nursing students and potential nursing students; * Serve on departmental, division, and college committees; * Maintain current expertise in teaching through professional development; * Participate in weekly meetings, special events, pinning, and graduation, some outside of regular work hours; * Adhere to Massachusetts Community College Contract including but not limited to:
* Academic advisor to students; * Post and maintain a minimum of four (4) office hours per week; * Serve on College committees (college governance) as elected or appointed; * Attend Division, Department, and Committee meetings; * Serve on Nursing Program committees.

Required Qualifications:
* Hold a current Massachusetts Registered Nurse license in good standing, or able to obtain for out of state applicants; * Master of Science in Nursing degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education in the U.S.; * Possess a minimum of two years full-time experience in nursing, or its equivalent, within the last five years and evidence of clinical competence in clinical instruction; * Familiarity with multiple education instructional tools, methodologies and modalities including simulation, concept-based learning, systems-based learning; * Experience with and demonstrated commitment to cross-disciplinary education; * Excellent communication skills including oral, written, and presentation skills; * Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, and ability to quickly learn new software requirements; * Commitment to the use of new learning technologies; * Meet the same Technical Standards as student in Associate Degree Nursing Program; * Maintain Health Care Provider CPR level appropriate to teaching responsibilities.

Additional Information:
Salary Range: $74,000-$77,000, in accordance with one's education and experience as dictated by the collective bargaining agreement classification compensation structure.
