The Lied Center Program provides educational services to students with challenging behavioral needs who also may require academic support. The Lied Center Program is organized as a consortium and accepts children from many Iowa school districts. Students are transported daily to our campus from their home district and participate in a day program of learning. The primary goal is to support the student in developing the skills they need to address their difficult behaviors and eventually transition back to their resident district.

JOB TITLE: Interventionist - Starting pay $17.75/hour

JOB SUMMARY: An Interventionist supports the behavior intervention process used to meet the needs of students and to promote willingness to learn, safe, responsible and respectful behaviors.

Preventative and replacement strategies are reinforced and reviewed

- involving social skills, emotional regulation, and coping skills.

Interventionists and students collaboratively problem-solve to address unsolved problems, difficulty behaviors, and lagging skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

+ Responds to intervention calls to support students and staff

+ Utilizes CPI de-escalation and movement techniques

+ Supports students and teachers with behavior plans

+ Inputs intervention data to best support students

+ Participates in debriefing meetings

+ Contacts and documents parents/guardians in a timely manner

+ Collaborates with all staff members

+ Visits classrooms to positively support when available

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

+ Trained in CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)/Willing to Obtain

+ High school diploma or GED

+ Mandatory Reporter

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCES

+ Background in working with children who have experienced trauma

+ Background in working with children in residential placements
