Human Resource SpecialistPosition Overview: The purpose of this position is to oversee the student employment, graduate assistant, contracted partners and stipend employee process, including but not limited to preparing position descriptions and job postings, hiring and onboarding new hires into the Human Resource Information System, and ensuring all administration of onboarding is successfully facilitated. In addition, the position will assist in creating offer letters and wage statements for new full-time and part-time employees. In addition, this position will assist in pre-screening Contracted Faculty of Practice applicants, assist with creating and maintaining University contracts for Contracted Faculty of Practice, and assist with managing the hiring process for Contracted Faculty of Practice. This position will also oversee the tuition exchange program for employees and their dependents. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, timely, and able to maintain professional communication with all levels of the University committee (from students to the executive team). This position will also be responsible for inserting, scanning, and processing substantial amounts of data into the HRIS system. As a member of the Human Resources team, the HR Specialist will cross-train and assist other areas of the department with projects and troubleshooting as needs arise.This position is offered on a hybrid basis, working remotely two days per week and three days per week in the office. However, work schedules may be subject to change depending on business needs.This position is scheduled to begin on January 6, 2025.Essential Duties:Administrative processing, including receiving student, stipend, GA, and contracted partners hiring requests, generating offer letters and wage statements for approval by the Director, issuing offer documents to employees via an electronic signature platform, processing entry of new employees/employment status/jobs into HRIS, and issuing new hire compliance documents. Uploading all documents into HRIS upon completion through external platforms. Receiving reports, reviewing data for integrity, scanning and uploading documents into the electronic repository, troubleshooting issues, maintaining additional data for comparison, tracking changes, and maintaining communication with additional stakeholders. Responsible for sending monthly birthday and anniversary emails.Coordinate the new hire process for faculty and staff, including communication with hiring managers regarding employee terms of hire, timelines for beginning with the University, and meeting with new employees to complete compliance documents through Paycor. Responsible for processing background checks and I-9 verifications. Ordering business cards, name tags, and office signs for new and current employees as needed.Responsible for employment verifications, tracking talent management reviews, creating and distributing monthly HR newsletters, and event planning for HR-sponsored events.Training and development enrollment and tracking. Enroll all employees in compliance training courses in the training platform. Notify the employee of training requirements and provide reminders when due dates are near. Escalates concern to direct supervisor when training requirements are not met. Track additional training requirements as determined by the University. Create and deliver training as requested.Other duties as assigned
Education & Experience:Bachelor's Degree: RequiredPreferred 1-3 Years Experience in Human ResourcesPreferred: 1+ Years BannerRequired: Experience in Microsoft Office Suite
