SUMMARY OF POSITION Under direct supervision, the purpose of this position is to perform custodian and manual work in the care and cleaning of a City of McKinney facility. This includes: performing deep cleaning projects (i.e. mopping, scrubbing, disinfecting, dusting, and polishing), inspecting cleanliness of buildings, cleaning the restrooms and break rooms, removing trash, performing periodic floor detailing, handling daily meeting set ups and take downs, performing periodic maintenance tasks (i.e. changing filters or light bulbs), cleaning rooftops and gutters and performing other related work as required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Drives to and from assigned work locations as assigned.Performs deep cleaning projects as needed: Dust and polish chairs, desks, tables, shelves and other furniture, dust and clean return air grills and registers, light fixtures, etc.Inspects cleaning of assigned facilities and fills out cleaning inspection sheets.Stocks janitors' closets; monitors stock usage and inventories stock.Performs midday cleaning and trash removal (break rooms and restrooms).Performs periodic floor detailing and strip and wax floors.Handles daily meeting set ups and take downs.Periodically cleans rooftops and gutters.Performs periodic maintenance tasks (i.e. changing A/C filters, changing light bulbs, replacing batteries in flush valves, etc.)Comply with all written City policies and procedures.Adhere to assigned work schedule as outlined in City and department attendance policies and procedures.Performs related work as required.

Required Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Six months (6) of related experience (i.e. janitorial) required. Must have the ability to read, understand and follow written directions as well as to follow oral directions. Must have the ability to pass a post-offer physical examination.
Any work related experience resulting in acceptable proficiency levels in the above Minimum Qualifications is an acceptable substitute for the above specified education and experience requirements.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS A high school diploma or GED is preferred.

Must pass a drug screen and background check.Must have Class C Texas Driver's License
