Job Description Summary:
This position requires someone with a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree and social work licensure, preferably LISW licensure. This associate helps facilitate support groups for a variety of neuro/behavioral health patient populations and/or their caregivers (and may help develop new support groups). Assists with development and deployment of other patient and caregiver groups and classes, and interacts on a daily basis with individual patients, caregivers and visitors seeking support, information, and resource referral assistance. Knowledge of counseling principles and techniques is an important knowledge base for this role. This person has the opportunity to create new programming and may lead or teach educational offerings or presentations. This position also receives direct referrals from providers requesting various interactions with patients/caregivers.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master's Degree: Social Work (Required)
LISW - Licensed Independent Social Worker - Social Work Certification and Licensure Board
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE:
Master’s level social work training and social work licensure (LISW preferred).
Experience working with patients and families in a healthcare setting.
Experience in leading or co-facilitating support groups, with knowledge and experience with counseling principles and techniques.
History of working with patients with neurological disorders or behavioral health diagnoses is a plus.
Awareness of community resources and how to access them.
Team lead experience a plus.
