This position will report directly to the Vice President of Legal & Deputy General Counsel.Your Role & ResponsibilitiesManage legal and compliance risk by anticipating and detecting areas of potential exposure, implementing or expanding preventive measures to ensure compliance and avoid costs, increasing employee awareness, and improving Company decision-making.Case management, including selection and management of outside counsel, working with outside counsel on setting and managing litigation budgets, preparing pleadings, briefs, and other filings, developing and implementing case and settlement strategy, managing discovery, and preparing matters for trial.Demonstrate customer service focus by building relationships with internal and external customers through proactive and interactive communication.Handle or assist with court proceedings (including federal and state court appearances), arbitrations, mediations, and depositions.Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.Conduct fact investigations in connection with litigation matters.Advise on a range of privacy compliance issues, regulations, and industry standards and consumer protections.Advise on the application of policies, procedures, laws, and regulations to specific factual situations.Support and monitor the Company's privacy program to ensure that technology and business processes meet applicable legal requirements.Work with Employbridge's human resources department and business units on strategies for managing risk around employment matters, including discipline, terminations, harassment, discrimination and wage and hour compliance.Conduct ongoing reviews and development of, and ensure compliance with, Employbridge's employment policies.Manage Employbridge's responses to state and federal fair employment practice claims, including EEOC and DOL claims.Analyze and interpret state and federal regulations and contract requirements and disseminate information in a comprehensible form to clients.Handle other in-house counsel-related matters.Preferred Education, Skills, and ExperienceLaw degree with admission to at least one state bar required, plus 8 or more years related experience.Competencies (Skills & Knowledge You'll Bring)Have a relentlessly strategic and practical approach to lawyering - the big picture is never far from your mind.In depth knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations, including Americans with Disabilities Act, Family Medical Leave Act, EEO laws, wage and hour and other federal, state and local laws affecting the employer-employee relationship.Understanding of US state and federal privacy laws, including CCPA/CPRA.Comprehensive knowledge of privacy laws, regulations, and other related guidance and standards.Skilled at identifying, understanding, and managing legal and regulatory risks related to our business.Be excited by challenges and not be fazed by moving quickly.Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize workload, be responsive to client needs, and multi-task in a dynamic environment while maintaining attention to detail.Ability to deliver proactive and practical counseling, training, and support to business and corporate units.Experience managing outside counsel and developing and implementing successful case strategies.Be approachable, responsive, ethical, and kind.Ability to function independently with limited guidance.The anticipated annual base salary for this position in the US is $160,000 to $180,000. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for.
