The successful candidate is competent in keeping initiatives on track and identifying where training and alignment is needed for future needs. If you like to have your finger on the pulse and provide context for decision-making, this management position is located in a technology-savvy division that added an AI virtual agent to its websites and voice channels and continues to innovate.The manager in this position serves to support the bureau chief in system-support issues and initiatives by making recommendations and enacting decisions about current-state processes and future needs. The division anticipates a major system transformation project starting this fiscal year, which will affect all bureaus and teams for the three to five years of project engagement and business process transition. The successful candidate demonstrates the ability to make recommendations at a division leadership level to improve management capabilities. This position will assist in the development and preparation of legislative and budget issues. The incumbent also assists with mentoring mid-level management, quality assurance and rapid process improvement initiatives throughout the Bureau.The job includes managing teams responsible for websites and web-based communications, AI customer contact systems, and the division's licensing and enforcement application, as well as directly managing help desk and asset management functions. As section manager, the incumbent makes recommendations to the Bureau Chief to improve management capabilities and practices through research, analysis and techniques to formulate solutions and strategies. The manager ensures teams that gather and write requirements, perform configuration and coding tasks, and test application changes before and after deployment have proper quality assurance in place, as well as training and skill development to maintain and improve operational support responsibilities.The Systems Support Section manager in Medical Quality Assurance must demonstrate experience and capabilities in working with employees in technical and technology-centric positions. Experience with project management, system migration, website management, and/or operations is preferred.This position has a strong customer service role, both internally and externally, and must be confident communicating and making decisions collaboratively with teams in the IT office as well as program offices.
