Desktop Support Technician to join our team in the Energy industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing technical assistance and support related to computer systems, hardware, or software. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of our computer systems and providing a seamless experience for our users. The selected candidate will be a part of a team that is responsible for resolving technical issues, installing new software, and maintaining computer networks.Responsibilities: Serve as the first point of contact for employees seeking technical assistance over the phone or email. Perform remote troubleshooting through diagnostic techniques and pertinent questions. Determine the best solution based on the issue and details provided by the user. Walk the user through the problem-solving process. Direct unresolved issues to the next level of support personnel. Provide accurate information on IT products or services. Record events and problems and their resolution in logs. Follow-up and update user status and information. Pass on any feedback or suggestions by users to the appropriate internal teams. Identify and suggest possible improvements on procedures. Install, modify, and repair computer hardware and software. Run diagnostic programs to resolve problems. Resolve technical problems with Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), and other systems. Install computer peripherals for users. Follow up with users to ensure the issue has been resolved. Gain feedback from users about computer usage. Run reports to determine malfunctions that continue to occur.Qualifications: Proven experience as a Desktop Support Technician or similar role of 5+ years. Ability to diagnose and resolve basic technical issues. Proficiency in English. Excellent communication skills. Customer-oriented and cool-tempered. BSc/BA in IT, Computer Science or relevant field. Professional certification (e.g. Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA)) is a plus. Experience with O365 and installing various software and hardware. Strong problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong understanding of Microsoft and Apple operating systems. Able to read and understand technical manuals. Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects effectively. Knowledge of network security practices and anti-virus programs. Ability to perform remote troubleshooting and provide clear instructions.
