Group/DivisionSPTS wafer processing solutions include market-leading silicon etch, dielectric etch, dry-release etch, PVD, PECVD and molecular vapor deposition (MVD), available with a range of wafer-handling options applicable to R&D, pilot production, or volume production environments. SPTS is headquartered and has its main manufacturing facility in Newport, UK, with additional manufacturing in Allentown, Pennsylvania. SPTS operates across 19 countries in Europe, North America and Asia-Pacific, and offers comprehensive service and spare parts support through a worldwide network of service centers and qualified local agents.
Job Description/Preferred QualificationsGroup/DivisionSPTS wafer processing solutions include market-leading silicon etch, dielectric etch, dry-release etch, PVD, PECVD and molecular vapor deposition (MVD), available with a range of wafer-handling options applicable to R&D, pilot production, or volume production environments. SPTS is headquartered and has its main manufacturing facility in Newport, UK, with additional manufacturing in Allentown, Pennsylvania. SPTS operates across 19 countries in Europe, North America and Asia-Pacific, and offers comprehensive service and spare parts support through a worldwide network of service centers and qualified local agents.The applications team is our field based, customer-facing organization for process-based needs and this position is geared towards people who has interest and/or is experienced in the semiconductor industry.ResponsibilitiesPrimary purpose of this position is to understand, deliver, demonstrate, and fully implement a process solution that meets and aims to exceed our customer requirements - primary location is in Northeast United States.Installation of customer specific processes on systems and testing compliance with agreed process specification ("process transfer").Improvement in procedures and specifications related to the delivery of quality equipment to the customer - including improvement on existing processes to exceed customer requirements.On-site attendance for process installation acceptance, process development and process update meetings, along with remote support for customers.Collaboration with internal SPTS groups to ensure both proper process transfer and issues reporting.Collaboration with sales team on new applications or potential for future tool salesMake presentations for all onsite projects - executive reviews and deeper summaries - proactively offering solutions to problems as neededIn depth compilation analysis of data - some of it complex with multiple variablesDevelop familiarity with necessary process modules and endpoint capabilitiesKey Behavioral CompetenciesAble to communicate effectively with all levels within the Company.Flexible and highly motivated with a "hands on", "can do" approach.Able to work as part of a small team or in an unsupervised role with generally tight deadlines.Able to carry out relevant project work in a multi-tasked manner.Able to effectively mentor other team members as required.Willingness to work away from home at specific customer site(s) or abroad for extended periods of time on short noticeQualificationsEducated to degree level in a relevant science or engineering discipline - ideally holding a Masters degreeKnowledge of clean room procedures and analytical instrumentation desired.Experience of report writing / progress presentations on a routine and frequent basis - using the Microsoft Office SuiteFamiliarity with basic Lean/6-sigma definitions desiredExperience dealing with customers and ability to handle difficult situationsHands-on experience of process engineering with basic understanding of general semiconductor manufacturing flows a bonus.Minimum QualificationsMaster's or PhD Level Degree with 0-15 years of process engineering experienceThe company offers a total rewards package that is competitive and comprehensive including but not limited to the following: medical, dental, vision, life, and other voluntary benefits, 401(K) including company matching, employee stock purchase program (ESPP), student debt assistance, tuition reimbursement program, development and career growth opportunities and programs, financial planning benefits, wellness benefits including an employee assistance program (EAP), paid time off and paid company holidays, and family care and bonding leave.KLA is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
