About Company / Opportunity:We are an innovative entertainment company empowering artists and labels. We seek a Corporate Counsel specializing in M&A to lead acquisitions in the music industry, including record labels, publishing rights, and other key assets. This role works closely with our Corporate Development and M&A teams, as well as external counsel, to ensure smooth, successful transactions.
Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive legal support throughout M&A transactions, from deal structuring to integration.
Draft, review, and negotiate transaction documents.
Conduct due diligence on contracts and intellectual property.
Coordinate across departments and manage relationships with external counsel.
Advise executive leadership on legal risks and compliance during acquisitions.
Facilitate integration, ensuring compliance with corporate governance and intellectual property laws.
Must-Have Skills:
JD degree
Member of the California State Bar
3–10 years of experience in M&A transactions
Experience in entertainment/music law
Expertise in intellectual property and music licensing, with strong drafting and negotiation skills
Proven ability to manage complex deals
Nice-to-Have Skills:
Passion for the music or entertainment industry
Experience with international M&A transactions
Project management skills
