Job Description:Position Details:Annual average salary of $60,000.$190 per day during the 8-week training period. Position Purpose:As a Food and Food Service Delivery Driver, you play a vital role in the food supply chain, ensuring timely and safe delivery of products while representing our company. In this entry-level driver training role, you will gain experience in hauling freight and operating tractor trailers while assisting designated driver trainers with their deliveries. You will communicate professionally with customers, vendors, and co-workers, ensuring questions are answered accurately and promptly, and function as a team member in the organization.Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:Complete the Entry Level Driver Trainee or Dock to Driver Training Program as needed.

Assist driver trainer in executing deliveries.

Perform all required safety checks, including pre/post trip inspections per Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.

Report any safety issues or necessary repairs.

Adhere to all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines.

Inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight.

Conduct count checks of items and verify customer invoices for accuracy.

Move tractor to the loading dock and attach preloaded trailers as needed.

Drive to and deliver customer orders according to a predetermined route delivery schedule.

Unload products from the trailer and transport items into designated customer storage areas.

Perform damage control checks on items and handle customer returns according to company policy.

Verify delivery of items with customers and obtain necessary signatures.

Collect payment where required.

Load customer returns onto the trailer and secure trailer doors.

Unload damaged goods and complete necessary paperwork for customer check-in.

Maintain cleanliness in the tractor, loading dock area, and trailers.

Complete daily records of hours of service in accordance with Federal DOT and company requirements.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:6-12 months of commercial driving experience.High school diploma/GED or state-approved equivalent.Valid CDL A license.Must meet all state licensing and certification requirements.Aged 21 years or older.Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years.Pass post-offer drug test and criminal background check.Pass a road test.Possess a valid DOT Health Card or be able to secure one.Able to manually lift and utilize equipment to handle product cases/freight ranging from 10-35 pounds to 60-90 pounds, depending on the location.Company Description:Performance Foodservice, PFG's broadline distributor, partners with various local customers, including independent restaurants and hotels, healthcare facilities, schools, and quick-service eateries.
