Industrial Valve is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented

Purchasing Specialist

to join our team. This role is essential for ensuring efficient material procurement and effective inventory management, as well as fostering strong vendor relationships. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of purchasing practices and have relevant experience in an industrial or related industry.

Responsibilities

Assist in sourcing and purchasing materials required for valve maintenance and repair projects, ensuring timely availability to meet project deadlines.Monitor and manage inventory levels, conducting regular audits to ensure accuracy and optimize stock levels.Maintain and expand relationships with existing vendors, negotiating terms and pricing to secure favorable deals.Work closely with the Controller and other departments to align purchasing activities with project needs and company goals.Prepare and maintain reports on purchasing activities, inventory status, and vendor performance.Assist fellow team members with issues and problems related to procurement.Contributes to the identification and execution of improvement opportunities in Quality, Reporting, Cost Reduction, Procedures and Processes, Audits, etc. and is able to lead small project work for the department.Other duties as assigned by the General Manager.Requirements

1-3 years of experience in purchasing or procurement within valves, industrial maintenance, or a related industry preferred.Familiarity with vendor management and purchasing practices, along with a solid understanding of inventory management principles.Strong organizational and communication skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.Sense of urgency to complete tasks/requests.Time Management skillsProficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with inventory management software is a plus.Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent.Associate/Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
