The vision for Sayre Christian Village began in 1972 when a group of 16 Christian ministers and Layman out of Kentucky felt led to develop a nonprofit retirement community that would provide continuous care in a Christian environment.
Today, Sayre Christian Village continues that vision serving 400+ older adults in Fayette and surrounding counties on an award-winning, 27-acre campus dedicated to quality housing, rehabilitation, and long-term care reflecting Christian compassion for all.
We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Food Services Director seeking an opportunity to join us in providing Hope, Housing and Healthcare for the seniors we serve.

The Food Services Director is inspired to serve and make a difference in the lives of others!

Following are typical duties of a Food Services Director at Sayre Christian Village:Operates the department in accordance with the approved budget, while providing the residents and staff with the maximum value for the dollars spentResponsible for ordering the food, ensuring proper preparation and delivery of it and ensuring that the kitchen area has been cleaned up afterwardManages the dining and food preparation staff at the healthcare facilityEnsures that the food offered to the patients, guests and staff is of superior qualityDirects and conducts safety, sanitation, and maintenance programsMaintains excellent relationships with other departments within the healthcare facilityEnsure proper delivery of food items to residents with a variety of nutritional needsMaintain a clean work area, equipment and storage areaResponsible for ensuring resident menu accuracy on the tray lineCommunicate with family members to ensure resident's desired nutritional needs are providedMust adhere to established time frames for meal service to ensure meals are ready at designated meal timesComply with state and federal regulations and with HIPAA Security Policies and ProceduresPromotes the professional growth and development of the entire teamFosters strong inter-departmental relations and integrate the dining service department with the facility plan of operationKnowledge and understanding of accident protocol.Knowledge related to nutrition, food safety, and administrationMust possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to communicate well with residents, families, staff and vendors.Ability to work independently and with others.Ability to build trust and rapport with staff, residents and families.Must obtain a thorough knowledge of cafeterias, kitchen supplies, food supplies and residents' rooms.Frequently communicates with employees, residents, family members, delivery drivers, etc.Occasionally lifts objects weight up to 25 pounds when assisting with inventory and stocking of food supplies.Frequently remains in a standing position.Frequently stoops, kneels, or bends when assisting with inventory and stocking of kitchen and food supplies.Frequently works in a well-lit, tempered room.Frequently works with kitchen appliances that can reach high temperatures.
Skill & Experience Requirements:Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of additional experienceMinimum of five years of proven leadership expertiseTwo to four years of direct foodservice operational management experience with inventory and purchasing knowledge and controlStrong knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentationKnowledge of P&L accountability and contract-managed service experience is desirableFood Handler's Permit required, with ServSafe® certified a plusMust be forward thinking, proactive and the face of the CompanyMust be able to pass a criminal background check, registry checks and drug screen.
