Position Summary
MFA IS&T is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Operations Manager to lead our infrastructure operations team.This role will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our core infrastructure and ensuring the reliability, security, and overall operational efficiency of our systems, networks, and hardware.
The ideal candidate is highly technical, organized, documentation-oriented, strives for operational excellence, and possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills.In addition, this candidate is highly experienced within the Healthcare IT environment and has a successful track record of accomplishing their objectives cross-functionally.This person can maintain and help continuously improve the core infrastructure to best service the MFA organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.
Team Leadership:
Lead and mentor a team responsible for core infrastructure services including servers, storage, databases, network administration, and related technologies, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.Infrastructure Design and Implementation:
Oversee the design, deployment, and maintenance of core infrastructure components, ensuring high availability, performance, and scalability to meet business needs.Networking Operations Management:
Demonstrated expertise in managing and optimizing network operations, including routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and other network devices. Proven track record in designing, implementing, and maintaining resilient and secure network infrastructures.Systems Administration Management:
Manage and optimize server and cloud environments, storage systems, databases, and associated software, ensuring efficient operation and adherence to best practices.Troubleshooting and Problem Resolution:
Proven ability to troubleshoot complex server and network issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement solutions promptly to minimize downtime and ensure uninterrupted network operations.Patch Management:
Develop and implement patch management strategies to ensure timely updates and maintenance of infrastructure components, minimizing vulnerabilities and ensuring system security.On-call Management:
Lead and coordinate on-call schedules and responses, ensuring continuous availability to address critical infrastructure issues or emergencies outside regular working hours, including to satellite MFA locations.Security and Compliance:
Collaborate closely with the security team to ensure the integrity and security of core infrastructure components. Work in tandem to implement security measures, policies, and procedures recommended by the information security (infosec) team. Address vulnerabilities and threats identified by the infosec team, ensuring timely resolution and proactive measures to prevent future occurrences. Uphold compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices, actively contributing to security audits and assessments to maintain a robust security posture across the core infrastructure.Documentation and Standards Adherence:
Proficiency in maintaining comprehensive network documentation, adhering to industry standards, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements related to network operations.Operational Efficiency:
Develop and implement strategies to improve infrastructure operations, streamline processes, and optimize system performance while adhering to industry best practices.Incident Management and Resolution:
Develop and oversee incident response procedures, ensuring timely resolution of critical infrastructure issues. Conduct post-incident analysis to prevent recurrence.Change Management:
Ability to oversee and manage changes to the core infrastructure effectively, ensuring minimal disruption while implementing upgrades, patches, and configuration changes.Minimum Qualifications
Education
A Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field.Experience
A minimum of 5 years of proven experience in managing network and server infrastructure services.A minimum of 5 years of experience supporting VMware Horizon Infrastructure & ESXI.A minimum of 5 years of experience supporting Microsoft Active Directory & Windows-based Server Operating Systems.A minimum of 3 years of cloud management experience (Azure, AWS, etc.).A minimum of 3 years of experience supporting Azure Active Directory.A minimum of 3 years of scripting and programming experience (PowerShell, Windows Batch, Linux BASH, Python, Java, VB, etc.).Strong Storage Area Network Experience.Prior professional experience troubleshooting technical hardware and software issues in systems, applications, networks, and security capacity.Physical Requirements
Walk, stand, and reach outward for long periods in an office setting.Must be able to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull over 100 lbs. as part of the role.Regularly exposed to healthcare settings that may require personal protective equipment.Requires manual dexterity to operate a computer keyboard, calculator, copier machine, and other equipment.
