General Assembly Engineer

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:• Mechanical and electrical assembly of customer jobs.• Work with mechanical and electrical blueprints.• Document job changes with engineering and purchasing Bill of Materials (BOM's).• Maintain accurate BOM changes for all jobs.• Working closely with technicians to develop new automation systems.• Automation Technician support, and general labor for the construction of custom assembly automation.• Maintain accurate time logging for jobs.• Miscellaneous duties as assigned to help Prescott Metal/EAM attain its goals.
Minimum Qualifications/Technical Knowledge Required:• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent, technical school preferred.• Electrical wiring and crimping skills, small to large wire gauge and cable assemblies.• Knowledge and experience operating power tools and hand tools.• Ability to read and interpret production job orders and bill of materials.• Basic troubleshooting ability.• Basic understanding of mechanical components, bearings, pneumatic systems, etc.• Basic understanding of electrical sensors, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), motor drives, vision systems, etc.• Ability to work as part of a team with technicians and engineers.• Basic knowledge of pneumatic systems, components, and assemblies.• Basic ability to use and understand precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, squares, scales, etc.• Ability to travel to aid in service and/or machine installations.
Physical Demands/Work Conditions:• The assembler stands for 8-10 hours per day with periodic sitting, walking, stooping, and reaching, as well as frequently lifting manually and/or moving material up to 50 pounds.• Typical manufacturing environment, subject to dust, metal shavings, machinery oil, and electrical hazards.• Frequently working with machinery that has pinch points and rotating parts.
Required Personal Protective Equipment:• Safety glasses when on the shop floor and when working with hand and power tools.• Gloves when handling sharp material.
