Business Analyst/QA

Job Summary: Skilled business analyst with technical expertise that formulates and defines systems scope and objectives based upon user needs and a thorough understanding of the business and industry requirements. This individual will also create test plans and scripts for tracking defects and fixes in product development, software application development, information systems, and operations systems. The Business Analyst/QA will apply proven analytical and problem-solving skills to help validate IT processes through careful testing in order to maximize the benefit of business investments in IT initiatives.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:• Works with end user groups to solve business problems with available technology including hardware, software, databases and peripherals. Analysis of business and user needs, and translation of those requirements into proper system specifications and system documentation• Communicates with users, functional managers and consultants regarding status of specific projects• Utilize SQL and stored procedures for data and logic update assignments.• Create and execute test plans and scripts that will determine optimal application performance according to requirements set in business specifications• Conduct detailed application testing, such as system, regression, acceptance and other testing methods• Test any new development to ensure integration into company systems meets functional requirements, system compliance, and technical specifications• Compiles, analyzes, and reports test results• Verify and revise quality assurance standards as needed• Conduct internal audits to measure and assure adherence to established QA standards for software development, application integration, performance, and corresponding documentation• Make recommendations for improvement of applications to programmers and software developers or engineers• Keeps abreast of technological developments and applications and proposes process and technology solutions to management
Knowledge and Skills:• Strong skills in the Microsoft Office Suite including Excel and Visio.• Must have very strong mathematical, analytical and logical skills to be able to deal with complex financial models and calculations.• Aptitude in logical and analytical thinking with strong problem solving skills• Knowledge of product life cycle methodologies, quality assurance methodologies, project management, documentation and industry trends• Direct experience as a lead tester for major application integration and/or major application product release• Excellent verbal and written communication skills• Customer oriented team player with a 'can do' attitude
Education and Experience:• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Business, or Finance• 3-5 years overall business experience, preferably with an information technology real estate background and/or as a business or systems analyst for a major corporation Proven experience with troubleshooting principles, methodologies, and issue resolution techniques• Working technical knowledge of SQL and stored procedures.• PowerBI knowledge is a plus.
