The Vice President, Advisory is a management role that reports to the Chief Operating Officer of Revantage Insurance & Alternative Solutions (“IAS”). IAS is experiencing significant growth and increasing sophistication as it enhances its capabilities to support Blackstone and their Portfolio companies. To continue this trajectory, the VP of Advisory will work with the Chief Operating Officer, IAS and Chief Risk Officer to drive the IAS strategy process and operationalize our strategic priorities. This position can be based out of Revantage’s headquarters in Chicago, IL or our offices in Dallas, TX.

The VP will lead and manage a portfolio of key strategic projects, develop actionable plans on key cross-functional initiatives, and work in close collaboration with the rest of the IAS team to advance growth, scale, efficiency, continuous improvement, and service expansion. The VP will also create, in partnership with IAS leadership team, executive presentations, including messaging, advisory services, and materials to support Blackstone and portfolio company communications. Furthermore, the VP will coordinate efforts with ESG around climate resilience.

This position requires a natural leader who can develop relationships and trust both inside and outside the firm. The candidate must exemplify strong execution and change management skills, demonstrate strong people management abilities, and prioritize numerous competing requests while managing diverse stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have subject matter expertise in P&C insurance, experience in financial services, consulting and/or real estate, people management skills, and a track record of leading large-scale programs.

Specific responsibilities will include:

Provide advisory services for IAS department improvements and create internal and external collaboration and synergies

Facilitate and create the preparation of communication materials for key external and internal business discussions, including with portfolio companies, Blackstone executives, and other Revantage stakeholders

Demonstrate discretion and professionalism when working with leadership team on sensitive business and organizational issues, manage ambiguity and propose workable solutions to challenging problems

Monitoring ongoing business performance through tracking of relevant KPIs and developing management reporting

Designing and facilitating the institutionalization and standardization of industry, process, and organizational knowledge and best practices

Leading, managing, and developing a strong, performance-oriented team capable of actively and effectively engaging and growing with the business

Professional experiences and qualities

The ideal candidate should also possess, at minimum, the following qualifications and attributes:

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, Engineering, Real Estate or related field. MBA and/ or CPCU is desirable.

10+ years of experience in the Insurance practice of a financial services or consulting firm, or in the strategy / finance function of a P&C insurance company

Expert verbal and written communication skills and experience in designing, socializing and finalizing executive presentations

Proven track record with strategy planning, development, and execution; bias for action, ability to deal with ambiguity, and natural perseverance to overcome obstacles and deliver outcomes when leading change

Ability to think creatively and outside the box to simplify complex information from diverse sources (financial statements, historical information, industry reports) into easy-to-understand concepts and updates for senior management

Exceptional analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated aptitude for data analytics and process improvement

Ability to thrive in a fast-changing environment and ambiguous situations; flexible and adaptable; willing to go the extra mile.

Experience building, managing, motivating, and retaining high-performance team(s) and driving measurable success in prosecuting those team(s) missions over time
