As a Mission Operations Full-Stack Software Engineer II at Astrolab, you will play a pivotal role in developing software that supports the mission operations for the FLEX rover in both commercial and NASA Artemis missions. This role focuses on building our mission support systems, developing or upgrading tools for operator procedures and operator command and control interfaces, building data management and visualization tools, and creating a robust infrastructure for mission path planning. You'll work closely with a talented team of engineers and key partners, contributing to our rovers' smooth, reliable operation as we push the boundaries of planetary exploration.
What You'll Do: Develop full-stack software solutions for the FLEX rover's Mission Operations, focusing on data management, telemetry visualization, operator procedure tools, operator GUIs/command and control interfaces, and path-planning Collaborate with external partners to streamline integrations between Astrolab's systems and vendor-provided tools Work alongside IT and InfoSec teams to maintain the security and reliability of mission-critical systems Engage in real-time mission support from the Astrolab Control Center, actively participating in lunar missions, tests, and simulation exercises Support engineering teams by building and enhancing tools for data access and operational analysis What's Prepared You:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant STEM field and 4+ years of experience in software development Hands-on experience with multiple modern coding languages, including Python and Javascript, and with web-based development using Node.js, Django, or similar Proven ability to manage projects from initial concept to deployment, especially within high-stakes, mission-critical environments. Familiarity with real-time mission support and a commitment to delivering reliable, secure software Background in developing mission-critical systems, prioritizing system integrity and security What We Offer:
