TITLE: PLANT MANAGER

REPORTS TO: VICE PRESIDENT, MANUFACTURING OPERATIONS
SUMMARY:Under the direction of the Vice President of Manufacturing Operations, the Plant Manager is responsible for the leading all aspects of our 8” HDD wafer fab facility with a strong focus on facility infrastructure. The Plant Manager will lead plant operations, drive efficiency, lead tool installations within budget, and implement strategic improvements on the infrastructure. This position is located in Milpitas, California.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Oversees the daily operations of the 8" production facility, ensuring all processes are efficient and effectiveIdentifies opportunities for facility improvements and leads initiatives to enhance production capabilities, reduce downtime, and optimize resource utilizationDevelops and implements maintenance and upgrade plans for equipment and infrastructure to ensure long-term operational excellenceOversees the planning, coordination, and execution of new tool installations within the budgetWorks closely with engineering and procurement teams to ensure the timely and efficient installation of new equipmentDevelops and implements protocols for testing and validating new tools to ensure they meet production standards and requirementsLeads, mentors, and manages a team of engineers, technicians, and support staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovationProvides training and development opportunities to enhance team skills and knowledge, ensuring high performance and engagementMonitors and analyzes production metrics and KPIs to identify areas for improvement and implements strategies to enhance efficiency and productivityDevelops and manages budgets, ensuring cost-effective operations while maintaining high standards of quality and safetyCollaborates with senior management to develop and execute long-term strategies for the facility, aligning with the company's overall goals and objectivesStays updated on industry trends and advancements, integrating new technologies and best practices into the production lineLeads continuous improvement initiatives using methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen to drive operational excellenceImplements process improvements to reduce waste, increase efficiency, and enhance product qualityManages relationships with external vendors, suppliers, and contractors to ensure timely delivery of materials and servicesCommunicate effectively with internal stakeholders, providing regular updates on facility performance and improvement projectAdheres to all safety policies and procedures as requiredPerforms other duties of a similar nature or level*
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing or related field and/or equivalent relevant experience, Master’s degree preferredMinimum of twenty years of experience in plant management within the semiconductor industry, with a strong emphasis on facility improvementProven track record of leading large-scale production facilities and driving continuous improvement initiativesProficiency in facility management software and tools, as well as continuous improvement methodologies
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Strong knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes, equipment, and industry standardsStrong problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skillsKnowledge of semiconductor industry specifically wafer fab manufacturing and productionKnowledge and ability to use Microsoft Office applications to create spreadsheets, Word documents, and presentationsAble to analyze data, create various reports, and recommend corrective actionAble to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with all levels of contractors, consultants, employees, and managementAble to work productively and collaboratively with all levels of employees and managementAble to comply with all safety policies and proceduresDemonstrated experience in improving facility infrastructure, planning, and developmentDemonstrated ability to lead and mentor othersDemonstrated ability to motivate, manage, and evaluate employee performanceDemonstrated analytical and critical thinking skillsDemonstrated organizational and time management skillsFlexible and able to prioritize
The annual base salary for this full-time position is between $163,040.00-$239,764.00 + bonus target + benefits. Within the range the individual pay may differ depending on additional factors including job responsibilities, job related knowledge, skills, abilities, education, and experience. The annual base pay range shown is subject to change and may be modified periodically.
WORKING CONDITIONS:The Plant Manager works primarily in both office and manufacturing production environments. Travels from building-to-building as needed. Works in a class 100 ESD sensitive wafer manufacturing facility; wears a cleanroom (bunny) suit, including hood, gloves, safety glasses, booties, and mask. May be exposed to high-volume noise and/or hazardous materials such as chemicals or particulate matter; stands and walks; performs various fine grasping movements, bends, and twists; operates a computer and enters information using a keyboard, operates a telephone, and other office equipment. May occasionally push, pull, or lift up to 20 pounds.
