Job Title: NDT Inspector (Level II)Location: Newport News, VAContract Duration: Up to 2 years
Position Overview:
We are seeking experienced MT/PT Inspectors who specialize in MT Dry Method inspections. This role involves performing magnetic particle inspections on structural welds in a shop environment and requires working in confined spaces, climbing, and occasional grinding for relevancy checks.
Key Responsibilities:Conduct MT (magnetic particle), PT (penetrant testing), and VT (visual testing) inspections on structural welds.Document and maintain accurate records of inspections.Perform minor grinding tasks as needed to verify inspection relevance.Operate NDT equipment, recording and analyzing inspection results.
Qualifications:Experience:
Minimum of 4 years in non-destructive testing (NDT) with documented OJT hours in MT, PT, VT, and UT.Certification:
Level II certification per ASNT's SNT-TC-1A, 2001 Edition or later (in MT, PT, and VT).Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., climb vertical ladders, crawl in tanks and confined spaces, and work comfortably at heights.Testing Requirement:
Candidates must pass a practical exam to demonstrate proficiency in operating NDT equipment and analyzing results for MT, PT, and VT inspections.
Requirements:U.S. citizenshipRecent NDT certifications (within the last 3 years)Ability to pass a hair follicle drug test and background check
