Job Overview:
McDermott has an opening for a Principal Planner in Houston, TX. The Planner will be responsible for preparing and maintaining Level 3 detailed Engineering/Procurement /Module Fabrication/Construction and Commissioning schedules, with the purpose of providing the Project Management Team with accurate progress, performance and schedule data to manage the project Facilitate project schedule validation workshops.
Responsibilities
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
Perform schedule analysis using Project Management software's including Primavera P6, Deltek Fuse & Risk, and Microsoft ProjectSupport project baseline creation during the project initiation and setup phaseFacilitate detailed multi-discipline scope reviewsPerform detailed schedule quality and integrity checksUpdate and validate physical progress reported from EVMS systemsProvide project schedule support and mentor junior planners as requiredDevelop and maintain logically linked level 3 and level 4 activity schedules, for marine scope installation projects in the Oil and Gas Industry (pipelines, subsea, platforms, HDD), according to precedence flow planning, using best practicesProduce workforce histograms and progress and quantity curves in connection with the schedulesMaintain and review the sequence of Engineering, Procurement, Fabrication, Construction, Installation, Hook-Up, and Commissioning, and other operations for control of critical path and overall project durationsElevate and expedite operations that are delaying the schedule and analyze changes to the schedule to meet unforeseen conditionsCreate and Monitor schedule compliance, key performance, factors, and provide analysis of variations to baseline dataIdentify current and potential factors that may delay the schedule. Assess actions for recovery and improvement and analyze changes to the schedule to meet unforeseen conditionsLead and deliver initiatives
Essential Qualifications and Education:
Candidate shall have a minimum of 10 to 15 years of experience in the capacity as a planner.Must have solid commands of Primavera P6 and Microsoft Office software.Must be able to use advanced features in Excel (curves, histograms, formulas, etc.).Strong Onshore Oil & Gas, Petrochemicals Project Experience.Modularization Experience Preferred.Ability to think critically.
