Primary RoleWe are seeking an experienced and motivated HVAC Team Leader to join our team. In this role, you will manage a team of technicians and ensure that all projects and assignments are completed on time and without sacrificing quality and safety. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:Supervise and coordinate daily field operations of the commissioning team on various projects and tasks.Work closely with the project management team and the BMS Manager to ensure all projects are installed per project and equipment requirements.Lead, mentor, and support technicians, ensuring they have the resources and training necessary to perform their duties effectively.Review startup procedures and paperwork to ensure equipment is started up and compliant with manufacturer’s warranty requirements.Coordinate with and manage equipment vendors to ensure equipment meets project requirements.Assist the project team in completion of third-party commissioning. Coordinate and manage appropriate commissioning pretesting and testing activities.Ensure that all work is completed in compliance with company policies, safety standards, and applicable codes and regulations.Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor progress, quality, and safety, addressing any issues that arise.Collaborate with project managers, field superintendents and foreman to plan and execute projects efficiently.Provide technical expertise and troubleshooting support to field technicians as needed.Manage inventory, tools, and equipment to ensure readiness for all projects.Communicate effectively with the project team, providing updates, and addressing issues and concerns to meet project milestones and goals.
Education & ExperienceRequired – Minimum of 10 years of experience as a Commercial HVAC technician, with at least 2 years of experience in supervisory or leadership role.
Special SkillsRequired - Strong organizational skillsRequired – Strong leadership skillsRequired - Ability to communicate effectively with others both written and orallyRequired – Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)Preferred – Working knowledge of accounting/ dispatching systems such as American Contractor, Capterra, Quick Books etc.
Certificates, Licenses & RegistrationsRequired - Valid driver’s license and good driving recordCertified and experienced in installation of Mitsubishi VRF systems.Universal EPA certification is required.HVAC Masters or Journeyman license preferred
Physical RequirementsRequired – Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. on a regular basisRequired – Ability to sit, stand and/ or move around for long periods of time
Other RequirementsStrong knowledge of HVAC systems, including installation, troubleshooting and repair.Working Knowledge of DDC system architecture, DDC controls and equipment control systems.Experience with the commissioning process on new construction and retrofit projects.Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.Required - Ability to pass drug screening(s)Required - Ability to pass background check and obtain security clearanceRequired - Able to prove U.S. Employment eligibilityRequired - Willing to travel as requiredRequired – Able to work extended hours when necessary, nights and weekends
