JOB FUNCTION:The Electrical and Controls Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing electrical andcontrol systems on equipment and machinery. This role involves installing, programming, and maintaining variousautomation systems, ensuring that production runs smoothly with minimal downtime. The ideal candidate will have astrong background in electrical systems, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and control devices.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Maintenance & Troubleshooting:Diagnose and repair electrical issues in machinery and equipment.Troubleshoot PLCs, control systems, electrical circuits, motor drives, and automation systems.Use technical documentation and schematics to identify and resolve system faults.Test and validate control systems for proper functionality and safety.Installation & Upgrades:Install, modify, and maintain electrical wiring, control devices, sensors, and related equipment.Program and configure PLCs, HMIs (Human Machine Interfaces), VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives), and other control systems.Upgrade and retrofit older systems to newer standards and technologies.Preventive Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical systems and control devices.Calibrate and tune control systems to maintain operational efficiency.Maintain and update documentation of system configurations and changes.Compliance & Safety:Adhere to all safety protocols and standards, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO).Ensure compliance with electrical codes, safety regulations, and company standards.Assist in the development and implementation of safety guidelines for electrical and control systems.Technical Support & Collaboration:Provide technical support to production teams and collaborate with engineers on complex electrical and control projects.Work with vendors and suppliers for spare parts, technical specifications, and troubleshooting support.Participate in training programs to stay updated on new technologies and standards.

Promoting opportunities within and through referrals.QUALIFICATIONS:Education:a. Associate's Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Industrial Electronics, Automation, ora related field.b. Relevant certifications (e.g., Journeyman Electrician, Certified Automation Professional) are aplus.Experience:a. 3+ years of experience in electrical and controls maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair in anindustrial or manufacturing setting.b. Hands-on experience with PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.), HMIs, VFDs,sensors, and control systems.Technical Skills:a. Strong understanding of electrical systems, wiring diagrams, schematics, and control circuits.b. Proficient in PLC programming, troubleshooting, and modifications.c. Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Ethernet/IP, Profibus).d. Familiarity with safety standards (NFPA 70E, OSHA regulations) and electrical codes.Soft Skills:a. Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.b. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.c. Good communication skills and ability to document work clearly.d.
