The Opportunity – Construction Administrator
We are seeking a seasoned Construction Administration (CA) Specialist with a minimum of 10 years of experience in architectural construction administration and/or general contracting CA. The ideal candidate will play a key role in overseeing and managing the construction phase of our projects, ensuring they are executed in accordance with design specifications, budgets, and timelines. The candidate must live within a reasonable drive time to our office in West Palm Beach to facilitate effective communication and project management.
As a Construction Administrator, you would help ensure the success of a project by staying ahead of the construction both in-office and on-site, thus assisting the GC in responding in a timely manner to issues while maintaining the construction schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the construction administration process for commercial architecture projects, from pre-construction through project completion.Serve as the primary liaison between the architectural team, contractors, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met.Conduct regular site visits to monitor construction progress, address issues, and verify that work is being performed in compliance with construction documents, building codes, and industry standards.Review and respond to RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and change orders promptly and accurately.Identify and resolve construction-related challenges in a timely and cost-effective manner.Monitor project schedules and budgets, providing updates and recommendations to the project team.Ensure quality control and adherence to safety protocols on construction sites.Prepare and maintain thorough documentation of all CA activities, including site observation reports, meeting minutes, and field reports.Collaborate with the design team to review and interpret construction documents, offering insights to improve constructability.
Facilitate project closeout, including punch lists, final inspections, and as-built drawings.
Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field preferredMinimum of 10 years of experience in architecture construction administration and/or general contracting construction administration, with a focus on commercial projects.Strong understanding of construction processes, building codes, and industry standardsProven experience managing multiple projects simultaneously, with a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions quickly.Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with clients, contractors, and team members.Proficiency in construction administration software and tools.Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, specifications, and contracts.Must live within a reasonable drive time to our office in West Palm Beach.Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for site visits.
