Electrical Engineer II - Electrical Process Engineering TeamArden Hills, MN
RoleDevelops digital and analog electronic test systems, including : Requirements, electrical and circuit design, schematics, and FPGA coding.Responsible for the analysis, design and integration of test systems and testing solutions.Responsible for oversight of the fabrication and production of electronic test subsystems and complete systems.Responsible for developing, applying and maintaining quality standards for electronic systems.Collaborating with team of SW/FW/HW engineers to develop code and support instrumentation for verifying the functionality of pacemakers and defibrillators.Responsible for debug and repair of electronic systems and PCBs, and/or oversight of technicians performing that work.
Your responsibilities include:Apply your knowledge of electronic design methodologies and systems to develop test system concepts, requirements and specifications using hardware engineering best practices and/or industry standards.Implement electronic instrumentation and test systems based on requirements and specifications.Integrate electronic instrumentation and subsystems into larger test systems that may include both software components and medical devices.Work in technical cross-functional teams to develop and support custom instrumentation and test systems.Continuously improve process and work methodologies.Hands on, and/or oversight of technicians in troubleshooting and repair PCB assemblies and systems.
Minimum Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree of more from an accredited school in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or related field of study2+ years of work experience in Electrical Engineering with BS or 2+ months experience in electrical engineering with MS Degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or related field of studySchematic capture, and oversight of PCB and system fabrication/assembly experienceKnowledge and experience in low power analog design techniquesStrong lab skills and hands on experience with standard electrical test equipmentIntegration of electronic and software systems experience, including problem resolutionC++ and/or Python programming experienceExperience writing documents, reports, memos, and change requestsExperience trouble shooting and repairing electronic circuits at the board levelWillingness to work onsite at our Arden Hills, MN location
Preferred QualificationsInstrumentation design and maintenance experienceAnalog/Digital electronic experienceMixed hardware/software design experienceInstrumentation validation experienceExperience with LabView and/or MatlabFamiliarity with FPGA design toolsExperience in a Regulated environmentFamiliarity with C# creating GUI’s and test applicationsExperience with Altium, Verilog, VHDL, and/or SolidWorks
