Description: Joyce University is currently looking for an experienced nursing educator to join our team as a full-time Assistant Dean of Nursing in one of our regional states.
This position requires the candidate to be licensed and located in the state of Oregon.
The Assistant Dean of Nursing is responsible to help ensure streamlined and efficient operation of the nursing program at clinical sites. The responsibilities include supporting and advancing clinical education through teaching and mentoring students, collaborating with clinical partners, helping to develop/maintain clinical site relationships, evaluating and supporting faculty, and serve as a faculty member for various course(s) as needed. The Assistant Dean of Nursing is knowledgeable of clinical program curriculum and requirements and helps organize multiple clinical programs while meeting programmatic and institutional outcomes. The Assistant Dean of Nursing is responsible for providing input in the areas of staffing, scheduling, supporting, evaluating faculty, appropriate direction of student inquiries, and for the individual and collective professional development for nursing programs. The Assistant Dean of Nursing guides and supports clinical faculty, staff, and students, to achieve and maintain standards of excellence in teaching while ensuring students derive the most optimal benefits from each learning experience. The Assistant Dean of Nursing uses excellent written and oral communication skills, advanced computer skills, advanced clinical skills, and the ability to interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU:A generous self-directed PTO policyPaid holidays401k with employer matchMedical, dental, and vision insuranceFully paid short term disabilityLong term disabilityDedicated professional developmentWorld-class continuing education assistanceWHAT YOU DO EVERYDAY:Facilitate clinical education experiences in a variety of settings throughout all semesters of the nursing programs while aligning with student, programmatic, and institutional learning outcomes.Function as the clinical instructor for any required courses which could include assisting students with physical assessments, clinical judgment, medication administration clinical skills, grading, and assigning to various units/floors for their clinical experience.Maintain competencies under the Clinical Faculty role and can perform independently.Develop and maintain relationships with clinical partners.Coordinate and schedule clinical opportunities while assessing appropriate utilization.Support, evaluate and develop clinical faculty.Assist in the evaluation of student progress throughout clinical experiences as needed.Monitor and collaborate to support student success.Ensure student performance and attendance is completed in a timely manner.Maintain evidence of professional growth including membership and participation in professional organizations, continuing education, concurrent related practice experience, educational research, and an awareness of current practice standardsAttend faculty and committee meetings, pinning, graduation, and other university events as required.Participate in continuous quality improvement and professional development activities to enhance the teaching-learning process and upload evidence of participation to Paylocity.Assist in compilation of statistical data and other information as requested for accreditation and other organizational needs.Utilize instructional methods that accommodate various learning styles.Identify and remediate behavioral and academic deficiencies.Submit suggestions and supportive data for improving curriculum and clinical processes.Help to maintain integrity of curricular offerings.Develop relevant educational materials and presentations.Actively participates in the hiring process of faculty.Provide input for the faculty assignments each term.Plan and participate in regularly scheduled faculty development meetings.Evaluate performance of faculty members as it pertains to their professional development and student engagement using observations and relevant data.Conduct clinical faculty reviews and create an individual annual clinical faculty professional development.Provide input for departmental succession planning.Successfully represent the University and nursing programs to state and national regulatory and accreditation agencies.Other duties as assigned.Requirements:

Registered Nurse in the State of Oregon (Required)Education:
Master's degree in nursing (Required), Doctorate degree preferredExperience:
A minimum of 5 years nursing clinical experience, and 2-3 years of teaching experience required.Certification:
American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers
