A law firm in Miami, FL, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Patent Associate Attorney to join its intellectual property practice. The ideal candidate will have 2-4 years of experience drafting and prosecuting US and international patent applications, primarily in mechanical arts, with exposure to electrical and software technologies.Duties:
Draft and prosecute US and international patent applications in mechanical arts, with some involvement in electrical and software technologies.Conduct patentability and freedom-to-operate analyses.Provide IP counseling to clients regarding patent portfolio development and strategy.Collaborate with inventors, patent agents, and foreign associates.Requirements:
Superior academic credentials from an accredited law school.2-4 years of experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications.Admission to a State Bar (Florida Bar preferred).Registration to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).Experience with mechanical arts patents required; exposure to electrical and software technologies preferred.Education:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.Certifications:
Admission to the State Bar (Florida preferred).Registration to practice before the USPTO.Skills:
Excellent writing and drafting skills for patent applications and legal documents.Strong interpersonal and communication skills for client interactions and team collaborations.Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Proficiency in patent research and analysis tools/software.
