A law firm in Stamford, CT, is seeking a motivated and experienced Patent Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in drafting and prosecuting patent applications, particularly in mechanical arts with exposure to electrical and software technologies. Superior academic credentials and membership in a State Bar, along with registration to practice before the USPTO, are required.Duties:Draft and prosecute US and international patent applications primarily in the mechanical arts, with some involvement in electrical and software technologies.Conduct patentability searches and provide patent landscape analysis.Advise clients on patent strategy and portfolio management.Collaborate with inventors, patent examiners, and colleagues to secure patent protection.Perform due diligence investigations in connection with patent acquisitions and licensing.Requirements:Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.Admission to at least one State Bar (preferably Connecticut or eligible for admission).Registration to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).2-4 years of experience in patent prosecution, particularly in mechanical arts.Experience with electrical and software technologies is a plus.Strong understanding of patent laws, regulations, and procedures.Skills:Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to analyze complex technical and legal issues.Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.Proficiency in conducting patent searches and drafting patent applications.Client management and relationship-building skills.
