The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, a law degree, and relevant experience in patent law.Duties and ResponsibilitiesHandle patent prosecution activities, including preparing and filing patent applications, responding to office actions, and managing patent portfolios.Provide patent counseling, including conducting freedom-to-operate analyses, patentability assessments, and strategic advice on patent protection.Support clients in navigating complex patent issues and intellectual property strategies.Draft and review patent-related documents, including applications, amendments, and responses.Conduct technical and legal research to support patent filings and client counseling.Collaborate with inventors and clients to gather information and address patent-related concerns.Assist with patent litigation matters as needed, including pre-litigation analysis and strategy development.Stay current on developments in patent law and technology trends to provide informed advice to clients.RequirementsMinimum of 2 years of experience in patent prosecution and counseling.Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Applied Physics, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.Admission to the U.S. Bar and registration to practice before the United States Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO).Education and CertificationsBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Applied Physics, Computer Science, or a closely related field.Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.U.S. Bar membership.Registration to practice before the USPTO.SkillsStrong technical background in relevant fields such as electrical engineering, computer science, or applied physics.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Proficiency in drafting and prosecuting patent applications.Ability to analyze and interpret complex technical and legal issues.Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.Familiarity with patent databases and software tools used in patent prosecution.
